For years Dr. John Cannell ran the Vitamin D Council and now he is back to writing (but not on Substack). He wrote over 30 Vitamin D papers and says “I mistakenly thought that vitamin D levels meant only vitamin D levels. But they are also markers of total sun exposure.
So, attributing benefits only to vitamin D deficiency is faulty, as it is also sunlight deprivation. That was a mistake I'm no longer making.”
He had for a long time correlated Vitamin D to autism.
Free Autism Clinic
I’m also conducting another free online autism clinic for children, as I did in 2014 and 2015.
First, I’ll do an online interview with the child and parents, administer standard autism scales, obtain 25(OH(D) blood levels, adjust the dose until the level is a high average, incorporate sun exposure, and then repeat autism scales.
When I did this ten years ago, more than 60% of the autistic children responded to vitamin D alone, some with dramatic improvement.
I have no doubt additional adequate sun exposure will improve these results. When I first wrote about D and autism, it was a pioneering research; no one had written about it before autism. Researchers have since published > 400 papers on vitamin D and autism, thanks to our collective efforts and support.
